Observability Platform User Guide
This guide explains the current Observability Platform and the separate discovery of a future solution. Existing users can find guidance for the current service below; teams across the Ministry of Justice can also contribute to discovery.
Current platform
The existing Observability Platform is hosted on Modernisation Platform and uses Amazon Managed Grafana. It helps onboarded teams visualise application logs and metrics, create dashboards, and configure alerts.
The current offering is intended to be retired in the future. No retirement date or migration timetable is announced here, and discovery does not mean the current service has closed.
Getting started with the current platform
Onboarding to the current service is by invitation only. The following guidance applies to the existing platform, not a new discovery service.
New platform discovery
We are in discovery to understand how teams across Modernisation Platform, Cloud Platform, and other Ministry of Justice environments currently approach observability. We want to understand what works, where teams encounter difficulties, and what a future solution should support.
Discovery is not an announcement of a selected product or an available replacement service.
